Being On Top of Our Game

In order to be a successful photographer in todays market you have to constantly be working. A wedding photographers daily tasks include: a constant plethora of emails that need responses, appointments to set and attend, design time for guestbooks and wedding albums, processing and packing enlargement orders, editing for sessions and events and the actual shooting time. I think people sometimes forget that we also spend an immense amount of time on marketing and promotion; hence the reason why I blog, twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and constantly update our website. We find ourselves in a blur sometimes trying to remember everything and staying on top of our game.

Recently my husband started telling me that I dream about photographing. I'm telling brides and children how to move and pose in my sleep. Is that sick? I love photography so much it consumes my every thought. TO ME THAT MEANS I'M ON MY GAME.

Staying on top of our game; what does that really mean? We constantly research what others are doing in the industry to stay competitive. We read lots of blogs, attend lectures and national conventions, network with vendors and try our very best to make every client THRILLED WITH OUR SERVICES and PRODUCTS. It's word of mouth that we believe will take our business the furthest.

The top of our game means continually expanding our knowledge, abilities and business! We look forward to the big things that 2012 will have in store for Angela Wilson Photography.

Oversized Oxford Shirts - The Perfect Bridesmaids Gift

Have you had a hard time deciding the perfect gift for your bridesmaids? Well there is a hot new trend that has become very popular after a Pinterest post recently; The monogrammed “oversized oxford shirt” as a bridesmaid gift for the bridal party to wear as they get ready on the BIG DAY. A bride called it it the “prepster” shirt. It's a fabulous idea!

I had the opportunity to photograph for Memento embroidery company last thursday and make some cute photographs of their new product line. Check them out and visit their site on Etsy. These shirts are not only practical, but they make adorable images for your wedding album.

It's the month of love, and since we are in the "love business," we thought it would be super fun to feature a Date Night On Us special.

The deal is simple: head over and like our Facebook page, then contact us and set up a meeting to discuss your wedding needs. Once you do, you'll receive a Fandango gift card, along with a Cold Stone gift card for the perfect date night. We figured, "What the heck, they're probably overwhelmed with wedding planning and need a break, or are just in need of some sweet quality time. So let us treat you to a movie and ice cream."

Newnan, GA Wedding Photography

Ansley and Patrick were married at the First United Methodist Church in Newnan, GA on August 27th, 2011. Their reception was at the Coweta Club just 10-15 minutes away from the ceremony location.

They were an absolute incredible couple to work with in 2011. They were literally so much fun, always smiling, constantly laughing and enjoying each other's company. Their connection was undeniable. The images captured were centered around their interactions with each other, the wedding party and their family.

One of my friends recently asked me, "How can you, as a photographer, know if a couple will stay together forever?" I simply replied, "You see it, you feel it and you just know." Thinking about that statement makes me realize that's how I felt when Steve and I dated (my husband and photographic partner). That statement is true of this couple too. Their day was clearly a blast, but as Steve and I became more involved in the wedding, we realized that everyone who attended was overjoyed for their uniting. As a photographer this is something that we take notice of and it makes our job that much easier. Ansley and Patrick are a lucky couple and we know they will have an amazing journey as husband and wife!

Wyndham Peachtree City, GA Wedding

We received the opportunity to photograph at The Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center. It is literally such a beautiful location to celebrate a wedding. They have an amazing outdoor courtyard for ceremonies and a stunning ballroom for receptions! It's every photographers dream to have a wedding full of immaculate details, in order to capture the true essence of the day in it's entirety. Lucky for us, this wedding was full of spectacular details that made our time spent photographing all the more enjoyable and gave us the freedom to really incorporate our artistic touch.

Ashley and Dave were one of the most amazing couples to work with on their wedding day. Aside from granting us an whole hour for group portraits after the ceremony, they also reserved a shuttle bus for the entire bridal party to take them to a picturesque lakefront park! This couple had photography as one of their top priorities for their wedding day and that certainly is evident through their images. Although we still worked fast we had enough time to really create amazing fine art imagery of the bridal party and couple.

Below we've posted a demo album design that we will be showcasing at upcoming bridal events.

Venue: Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center - Ashely and Karen were exquisite wedding coordinators and extremely easy to work with
Florist: Buds n' Bells
Cake Designer: Publix
DJ: DJ Leo
Dress: J. Andrew's Bridal and Formal
Hair & Makeup: Salon 54

We wish you a life long of happiness, Ashley and Dave!
